Bard is one of the twelve final classes that can be selected for a player character upon their second promotion. Only Adventurers can advance to this might-oriented class.
Description
Bards are experienced adventurers who have chosen a full, complex life. They are always present when something is happening. In battle, grandmastery of staff makes them last, but often they will rather play their music to spur on their friends and intimidate the opposition. On the road, the Bard's unsurpassed knowledge of pathfinding will greatly speed up travel. Expertise in fire, air, spirit and body magic support the Bard's best skills.
Skills
Bards can learn many skills, particularly combat and on-the-road, but not all. In their field of excellence, they are the only class that can reach full potential.
- Grandmaster: Staff, Music, Pathfinding
- Master: Dagger, Unarmed Combat, Leather, Merchant, Repair, Identify Monster, Stealing
- Expert: Spellcasting, Fire Magic, Air Magic, Spirit Magic, Body Magic, Sword, Axe, Spear, Mace, Bow, Shield, Dodging, Disarm Trap, Perception, Learning, Meditation, Bodybuilding, Identify Item, Armsmaster
- Normal: Alchemy
Hit- and spellpoints
The class of Bard gives the character:
- hitpoints = 0 + 5 * level
- spellpoints = 0 + 2 * level
Race provides hit- and spellpoints as well.
Reputation
Bards are liked by Halflings, giving the party a reputation bonus if they have one in their midst (+5), and disliked by the Church of Meh (-5).
Promotion
Storyteller Sheherazad Poe (Circus of the Sun) handles the promotion to Bard. Candidates must recover the Eternal Flame of Might and Magic from Castle Mehgenac in Eftling.
