Sorcerer is one of the twelve final classes that can be selected for a player character upon their second promotion. Only Apprentices can advance to this magic-oriented class.
Description
Apprentices who wish to attain full knowledge of elemental magic, become Sorcerers. It is the only class to learn the highest elemental spells, including Lloyd's new Beacon spell that can get the party out of a dangerous situation. Their mastery of the staff will mainly be used for defensive purposes, or when all spellpoints have been depleted. As grandmasters of item identification, Sorcerers make sure that the spoils are put to good use.
Skills
Sorcerers can learn many skills, particularly elemental magic, but not all. In their field of excellence, they are the only class that can reach full potential.
- Grandmaster: Fire Magic, Air Magic, Water Magic, Earth Magic, Identify Item
- Master: Spellcasting, Staff, Identify Monster, Alchemy
- Expert: Dagger, Music, Leather, Perception, Merchant, Learning, Meditation, Stealing
- Normal: Bow, Disarm Trap, Repair
Hit- and spellpoints
The class of Sorcerer gives the character:
- hitpoints = 0 + 3 * level
- spellpoints = 0 + 4 * level
Race provides hit- and spellpoints as well.
Reputation
Sorcerers are liked by Wizards, giving the party a reputation bonus if they have one in their midst (+5), and disliked by Halflings (-5).
Promotion
Head of school Melanie Bourne (Semiramis) takes care of the promotion to Sorcerer. Candidates are challenged to collect five Objects of Witchcraft from Karigor's provinces and put them into the cauldron of Maranthea College.
