CLASS | Explorer | Warrior | Agent | Adventurer | Knight | Ranger | Assassin | Thief | Monk | Bard |
Student | Acolyte | Scholar | Apprentice | Cleric | Saint | Druid | Runemaster | Sorcerer | Necromancer |
Explorer is one of the two initial classes that can be selected for a player character at the start of the game. Explorers are might-oriented, as opposed to the magic-oriented Students.
Description
Explorers are beginners who wish to become good fighters or famous adventurers. They seek action and the thrills of combat and treasure. As they advance in level, Explorers gain more hitpoints than students. Each explorer can select to become a warrior, an agent or an adventurer later on.
Skills
Explorers can learn many skills, particularly combat skills, but not all, and the attainable expertise is limited.
- Expert: Sword, Dagger, Axe, Spear, Mace, Bow, Leather, Shield, Perception, Bodybuilding, Repair, Armsmaster, Stealing, Pathfinding
- Normal: Unarmed Combat, Dodging, Disarm Trap, Merchant, Identify Item, Alchemy
Magic is entirely out of their reach during this stage of the game, but they may acquire some magic skills later on.
Hit- and spellpoints
The class of Explorer gives the character:
- hitpoints = 0 + 3 * level
- spellpoints = 0 + 0 * level
Race provides hit- and spellpoints as well.
Promotion
Lord August, the High Seer of Serenity, grants all player characters their first promotion after the party completes the Power Crystals quest. Explorers will then choose between the intermediate classes of Warrior, Agent and Adventurer. This gives access to additional skills, training, hit- and spellpoints, and better mastery of their skills. Later, they will specialize further by completing a second promotion quest.
