A skillpoint is a valuable asset to any player character. By spending skillpoints, characters can increase their level in a skill of their choice, at a cost equal to the new skill level. For instance, to go from skill level 3 to 4 costs 4 skillpoints.
Ways to obtain skillpoints
Each player character starts the game at level 1, and with that come the first 5 skillpoints for free.
The main way to get more skillpoints is by training. For character levels 1-10, each new level yields 5 skillpoints, for character levels 11-20 it's 6 per level, etcetera. The amount of skillpoints received can be increased by investing in the Learning skill.
There are several ways to obtain bonus skillpoints:
- by winning challenges, which range from easy to hard and can be found in every province of Karigor;
- by swallowing horseshoes, the traditional symbol of good fortune;
- by drinking from the Fountain of Destiny, at a price;
- by touching certain buoys.
Finally, the Market of Time offers the unique opportunity for a player character to lose a skill, upon which the skillpoints that were once spent on that skill are returned.
