Most of the story of MMTribute is unknown to the player at the start of the game, except for the prologue, the intro and the background stories in the manual. As the game progresses, the player will learn more about the story from the dialogues, journal excerpts, etc. in the game, and of course from reading the chapters of the Book of Ceth and listening to the prophet Thelmes. The story further unravels as the game progresses, by events and by the players choices: how the story ends is not set in stone.
Might and Magic Tribute's story is linked to the story of the official Might and Magic games. It plays 82 years before Mandate of Heaven, in a different part of the same world.
