The units of time in Might and Magic Tribute are essentially the same as in other Might and Magic episodes on Colony. The Moon circles the planet in exactly 28 days, and the planet rounds the Sun in exactly 12 x 28 = 336 days.

Year

Years are counted from the time of the Silence. When the game begins, it is the year 1083 AS (anno silentio). All years are the same, and consist of:

  • 12 months
  • 12 x 4 = 48 weeks
  • 12 x 4 x 7 = 336 days

Month

All months (moons) have the same length: the time it takes for the Moon to make full circle. Full moon is at 00:00 hours on the 15th day of any month. The months are:

  1. January
  2. February
  3. March
  4. April
  5. May
  6. June
  7. July
  8. August
  9. September
  10. October
  11. November
  12. December

Week

Weeks count seven days, beginning with Monday. There are 4 weeks to each month, and the first day of the month is also the first day of a new week. I.e., weeks run from days 1-7, 8-14, 15-21 and 22-28. Weeks have no names, but they may be referenced as the first, second, third and fourth week of the month.

Day

There are seven days to a week, named:

  1. Monday
  2. Tuesday
  3. Wednesday
  4. Thursday
  5. Friday
  6. Saturday
  7. Sunday

The day of the week is especially important for travel because coaches and ships usually only depart on specific days. Shopping, and other social activities, however, are uneffected, as there is no weekday of rest.

A day consists of:

  • 24 hours
  • 24 x 60 = 1440 minutes
  • 24 x 60 x 200 = 288000 seconds

Hour

The hour of the day indicates whether it is night or day, which affects the sky. Most shops and various other buildings are only open during specific hours. Ships and coaches typically depart at fixed hours.

Minute

There are 60 minutes to every hour. Log entries note the minute that an event takes place.

Second

The smallest unit of time, the second, is not displayed, but it is used in combat and other calculations.
