Thief is one of the twelve final classes that can be selected for a player character upon their second promotion. Only Agents can advance to this might-oriented class.
Description
Thieves are former agents who intend to follow the path of stealth to perfection. With grandmaster skills in stealing and the disarming of traps, they are looking for treasure, rather than combat, and wear leather as their armour of choice to avoid noise. Their best weapon is the mace, so they have a chance to paralyze anyone who interferes with their plans. Thieves can become experts in the schools of fire, water and grey magic, realms that enhance their abilities.
Skills
Thieves can learn many skills, particularly combat and stealth, but not all. In their field of excellence, they are the only class that can reach full potential.
- Grandmaster: Mace, Leather, Disarm Trap, Stealing
- Master: Sword, Dagger, Dodging, Perception, Identify Item
- Expert: Spellcasting, Fire Magic, Water Magic, Grey Magic, Axe, Spear, Bow, Music, Unarmed Combat, Chain, Shield, Merchant, Learning, Meditation, Bodybuilding, Repair, Armsmaster, Alchemy, Pathfinding
- Normal:
Hit- and spellpoints
The class of Thief gives the character:
- hitpoints = 0 + 5 * level
- spellpoints = 0 + 2 * level
Race provides hit- and spellpoints as well.
Reputation
Thieves are liked in Terrax, giving the party a reputation bonus if they have one in their midst (+5), and disliked by Druids (-5).
Promotion
Trainer Neil H. Krondor (Soronne) handles the promotion to Thief. Candidates are sent to the Thieves Guild in Terrax to steal from the Thief of Dreams.
