Bow is the combat skill to fire a Bow, a ranged weapon. It is the only ranged combat skill in the game and covers both regular bows and crossbows. Human, Elf and Genie Explorers, as well as Human, Vampire and Elf Students, may begin the game with basic knowledge of this skill. But all player characters can pick up the skill early on.

The damage done by a bow depends on the ammunition that the player character is using. Arrows and bolts come in various qualities.

Description

The bow skill covers both bow and crossbow usage. Expert archers gain a speed increase with their weapon, while master and grandmaster archers can loose two and three arrows respectively with every attack with the bow. Employing the crossbow, master archers extend the range at which they do increased damage and grandmasters get a chance to pierce an opponent's armour, negating its Armour Class contribution.

Technical notes

  • Halving the opponent's hitpoints is calculated after normal damage.

Acquisition

The Bow skill can be acquired at the following guilds:

Mastery of the skill influences its effectiveness. The various effects are cumulative.
