The Twin Cosmos of Wird can only be entered by falling asleep. The name of this strange dungeon, shaped in the form of two connected dodecahedrons, is an acronym of 'Microsoft Windows', all-time champion of bugs.

Purpose

The 'cosmos' features the dangerous part of the quest The Bugbear, given by Angrboda in Iotneheim, for Ogres to earn the title of Giantling. The dungeon is the home of the Bugbear. Once the Bugbear is defeated, the userer Wayupak might finally agree to reduce his rates.

Inhabitants

The opposition level of the Twin Cosmos of Wird is 3 (levels range from 1 to 6, with 6 the hardest).

Citizens

None.

Monsters

  • Bug (Flying Bug, Doom Bug, Firefly)
  • Bugbear (unique)

Objects

The dungeon contains the following operable objects.

  • Doors
  • Bottomless pit

Items

Treasure

The 'cosmos' contains a fair amount of treasure. There are gems hidden in chandeliers.

Floor plan

A floor plan for this dungeon has yet to be constructed.

Instruction notes

  • The dungeon has 22 identically shaped rooms, representing the free sides of the dodecahedrons, and one connection, the Bottomless Pit.
  • Each of the 22 rooms is a pentagon with 5 doors.

Doors

Doors inside this dungeon function like portals, as in the MM7 Barrows, so the inside of neigbouring rooms cannot be seen. The doors look like blue screens.

Bottomless Pit

Entering the Bottomless Pit transports both party and Bugbear to the other dodecahedron.

Bugbear

  • If the party moves into another room, so does the Bugbear. However, if they would choose each other's rooms, the Bugbear instead stays put.
  • The starting position of both party and bugbear are random (but not in the pit). Bugbear growls and fire crackling (the pit) give info on where the party is. The bugbear knows where the pit is and how to avoid it.
  • On a wall is an inscription reading 'Gregory was here' (that is Gregory Yob, who invented the Wumpus).
