They look good. Legs look a little too long, and could probably be shortened a little. I like the faces and beards, as well as the short haircuts, i.e. the minimum maintenance look.

I agree! Everything looks great!

Only thing I'd change is the legs. Is that using Maya?

Ah- well, well done!
Do you 3dmodel as a hobby or have you had 3d animation training?
I have been accepted into 2 different diploma in 3d animation courses for next year and have to decide before monday which one I'm gonna take. . . All sooo exciting! Anyway, enough about me- your models look great, I salute you!

One good mesure is called the "Ape ratio". It should be close to one to get nice propotions. It is the proportion between the high and the arm span. See also Da Vinci model for the body. Le Corbusier (the modulor) had a somewhat biased view, but I think you can make a linear scalling to fit it.

Hi, some advise,

first, take a look at my galery (link found in my sig) tongue.gif

secondly, think why people just LOVE World of Warcraft, because of it style and handdrawn texture.

Ok, now you don't need to use the same but this is a game man, a little out of proportion is not always that bad, so make his hand big, his feet big and make him look cool.

Example, take a look at Sora from Kingdom Hearts ( Square Enix & Disney ) his feet and hands are huge and still, he looks damn cool to me biggrin.gif

So, exagerating is good but not too much, so your skinny dude needs some work

I have to disagree here.

First and foremost, WoW's style has risen a lot of discussion and I'm confident that older fans don't like the style of WoW. It's not Warcraft style, it's Warhammer style.

Games are no special case, it's just a one concept. It's the style that matters. So, if you're into cartoonish or over-exaggerated style, then the out-of-proportions is okay. If you want to create realistic looking, then the proportions are one of the most important topics.

If you ask me, I'd rather play realistic looking games than cartoonish games. Anime is the worst of the lot.

About the models:

I think you should add more polygons, his arms and feet look too pointy. And then you have to work on the proportions. You might want to use guidelines like this.

Me too, but a good looking cartoonish gme is way better than a bad looking realistic games.

Wow, that was pretty quick!

I like it, especially his face!
I know your gonna hate this- but his legs dude. . . I suck at drawing legs too so while you read this you can just think to yourself [hypocrite!]
Yeah, It's looking like you've gotten shy at drawing legs now and decided to cover them up. . . It's hard to see anything but a dress with feet sticking out. Keep trying at legs, don't let us put you off making them them. For many people legs are one of the most important parts and along with hands, I'd have to say they are the hardest to make look cool and proportined. Try some life drawing if your looking for more realism style, or if you want to simplify, try drawing cartoons (even anime) Keep it at man, you've definatly got talent!

This is the last thing I will say about WoW :
think about how many subscribers they have and why, and why other games don't ?

The mage looks better but, try making 1 mesh for the whole thing, then you don't have the overlapping meshes like you see on the mage 3 image.
Also, when rendering a standing pose, try to bend the arms a bit, so they look more natural.
